Cleaner Wrasse-Habitat-
Members of the Labridae Family have greatly varied habitats, such as tidal pools, grass beds, rocky or coral reefs and even the seafloor. The habitat of the Wrasse is very dependent on the fish's feeding habitats, temperature and how subjective it is to predators. Like the wider Wrasse family, the habitat of Cleaner Wrasse does vary greatly, but unlike many members of the reef community, Cleaner Wrasse are non-migratory creatures and stay in the same spot.
Cleaner Wrasse are very common in the Indo-Pacific region and in the Great Barrier Reef. They can be found in tide pools, shallow coral outcrops and rocky areas on the coral reef. As diurnal (day dwelling) fish, when night falls over the reef, Cleaner Wrasse often burrow deep in sand and produce a mucous envelope where they remain until sunrise.
